The type 2 cap pictured is the style cap winning bidder will receive attached to the canteen, though very rare, color of cap may be black. This style cap has a drinking vent which can be used to insert a hose when wearing a gas mask or special breathing device. The flip top cap (Dust Flip Cover may or may not be attached. This will not affect the use of canteen) can remain closed during normal use, no leaks. This style cap has been in use with the U.S. Military for 40+ years. The dates on the bottom of the canteen and the back of the case range from 1970 – 2006.
This U.S. government issue Collapsible canteen is made of heavy-duty Semi-Rigid plastic construction with attached M-1 / NBC screw-top lid. Our canteens are designed to be used by hikers, campers, soldiers and workers in the field. Official government canteen. Made In USA. Holds 2 quart of any type of liquid. M-1 / NBC Cap is secured to canteen. Also include in this Listing is a Used USGI canteen cover. CANTEEN IS  BPA FREE.  These products are GSA Compliant. This USGI Olive Drab Green Nylon Canteen Carrier / Cover is made of Nylon Duck and Fleece Lining material is Acrylic Fiber utilizes a reinforced interior and exterior, heavy duty latch fastener, rear ALICE clips, interior insulation, an exterior pocket, a drain hole and heavy duty webbing. This Quality Carrier / Cover will hold the 2 Quart Collapsible Canteen or can be used as a general
purpose carrying pouch. The cover is Insulated and Fleece-lined (for added insulation to keep contents Hot or Cold) and has a double hook snap closure to secure the canteen in place. It has an outside pocket that can hold items like water purification tablets. It can be attached to the equipment belt or Alice pack with supplied 2 Alice Clips. 2 ALICE Belt Clips Included.

These are previously issued, used military surplus items but in  good to very good condition.
All components are fully functional but may show signs of previous use.
Canteens
are in very good condition and may have some scuff marks or may show some wear.
The canteen may have an M1 cap or a flat cap.
The cap may not have the rubber boot on the inside covering the spring.
These
are often removed by soldiers because water gets caught up inside of
it.  The cap may or may not have the snap cover for the straw
entry
point.   We test all used canteens for leaks.  To prevent leakage,
please be sure to put the lid on correctly and/or tightly.
Covers
are
in good to very good condition and may include things like thread snags
or fraying, wear on grommets or Vel-cro, maybe scratches on buckles, or
possible dirt or fading. May have
small flaws/holes
.
The canteen covers may or may not have a “US” due to fading or vinyl lettering coming loose.
The
Alice clips may have been exposed to weather and may show wear or minor
surface rust. May be Tan or Green. Carry strap is not included.
Either item may have a
soldier’s name on it or other government marks.
